Bench players for Seckman helped squash a late rally from Northwest, but they were able to do it off of the field, the St. Louis-Post Dispatch reports.
Brad Hagedorn, coach of the Seckman Jaguars baseball team, is crediting his bench players in a big win over Northwest on Tuesday. As Northwest fought to erase a deficit in the sixth inning, Seckman's bench players assisted centerfielder Thomas Estopare in a key moment, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. After catching a line drive, Estopare fired a throw to third base to pick off a Northwest player that left the bag too early, the newspaper reports. The bench had been shouting for Estopare to pick the runner off. The full game story, including stats and quotes, is available on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website.
