I don't see the benefit of two separate checking accounts, just more fees for the bank and more work for you and your partner. As for the phone - sounds to me like more of an expense again. Even if Charter doesn't charge a fee for this, if you're using a cell as a business phone why would you want it to ring to your home? In my experience, most people answer a home phone with "hello" which, by …   more ›

City Revises Farmers' Market Rules

Changes allow gardeners and developing farmers to sell at the Arnold Farmers' Market.

Arnold Farmers’ Market commissioners have revised the bylaws to allow gardeners to sell their homegrown produce at the Saturday event held at the Fox C-6 Middle School property. “This change will positively benefit both established farmers that currently sell their produce at the market and those green thumb backyard growers who are new to the market,” said a city news release issued Friday afternoon. Market customers will also see more seasonal produce sold. Anyone with questions or comments about the changes should contact Arnold City Administrator Matthew Unrein at 636-282-2383 or Arnold Farmers’ Market Manager Terry Long at 636-282-2380 ext.1403.

A Few Arnold Farmers Market Slots Available

The Arnold Farmers' Market will open for the first time on May 5.

There are currently eight businesses registered for the Arnold Farmers' Market which is scheduled to open on the Fox C-6 School district property on May 5. While a few more businesses are expected to register for the event in the coming days, there may still be a few slots available for Arnold and Jefferson County businesses eligible to participate in Arnold's first farmers' market. As reported in an earlier ArnoldPatch article, the 2012 Arnold Farmers’ Market will last for 25 weeks beginning on May 5. The markets will open at 8 a.m. and close at 12 p.m. The market will occur every following Saturday until Oct. 27. “This event should be a quality-filled event, not simply a quantity-filled event,” Counts said during an economic development …

What Business Should Go Into 233 Arnold Crossroads Center?

Cici's Pizza is actually sandwiched by two empty real estate spaces.

A few weeks ago ArnoldPatch said that there is a vacant commercial business real estate space at 231 Arnold Crossroads Center. There is another vacant space at 233 Arnold Crossroads Center. Cici's Pizza is located between two vacant business spaces. A new sports bar and grill will open at Arnold Crossroads Center, near the intersection of Hwy. 141 and north Jeffco Boulevard, in the near future. So what type of business should go into the "other" vacant space? The business would have a large corner location with large panoramic windows on two walls. Nearby are fast food restaurants China King, Panda Express, Fazoli's, Arby's, Wendy's, and Steak n' Shake. A sit-down Italian restaurant, Terrazza Grill, the Drury Inn hotel, the Pear Tree Inn …

New Frozen Yogurt Restaurant in Town Soon

Polar Opposites will be the second frozen yogurt restaurant to open in Arnold within the last year.

Contractors placed the Polar Opposites, a frozen yogurt restaurant, sign on the real estate space bewteen the Starbucks cafe and Panda Express Chinese fast food restaurant. Starbucks is at 3884 Hwy. 141. Panda Express is at 3880 State Route 141. No date has been announced for the new business' opening day. After inspectors for Rock Community Fire Protection District and the City of Arnold have approved the renovations—and the business opens—Polar Opposites will be the second frozen yogurt restaurant to open in Arnold. Orange Leaf frozen yogurt, at 2259 Michigan Ave., opened within the past year and is located next to Five Guys Burgers and Fries in the Water Tower Place shopping mall.

New Sports Bar Moving into Vacant Tilted Kilt Real Estate in Arnold

Hot Shots franchise owners have posted signs in the former Tilted Kilt sports bar location.

Arnold will have a new franchise, within a few months, opening at the former location of the Tilted Kilt bar and restaurant at 131 Arnold Crossroads Center. HotShots Sports Bar and Grill will, it seems, emphasize the opportunity to enjoy St. Louis sports games to customers. If the franchise opens in Arnold, it will be the ninth location in the St. Louis area for the franchise. The current seven Missiouri locations are in Bridgeton, Fenton, O'Fallon, Manchester, Maryland Heights, St. Charles and the South St. Louis County area named Mehlville.  An eight HotShots restaurant is in O'Fallon, IL. Come back to ArnoldPatch to learn when the restaurant will open and its menu specials.
