It was a good week for the sports teams at Lutheran South this week. And for the rest of the area schools, it was the end of the winter season. The Lancer hockey team will be skating for the Wickenheiser Cup championship in the Mid-States Hockey Association after a thrilling win in their semifinal series against Seckman. Lutheran South won the opener of the best-of-two series, 3-2, but Seckman came back in the game two with a 5-1 victory. That forced a mini-game, which was won by Lutheran South. The Lancers will face Whitfield for the Wickenheiser Cup title March 7 at the Scottrade Center at 5:30 p.m. Oakville's hockey team fell just short of joining Lutheran South at the Scottrade Center.
