Matt Stringer's gig as a "waver" for Liberty Tax Service is a great way to attract attention to himself - and for his employer.
He's been a server, a grocery store checker and worked in fast food, but Matt Stringer says his Lady Liberty gig is "the best job I've ever had." Stringer, of Arnold, is a "waver," which is what Liberty Tax Service calls the people who stand by the side of the road in a Statue of Liberty costume drawing attention to themselves - and in the process to the company's tax preparation services. Although the Statue of Liberty garb goes a long way towards getting noticed, dancing around and waving your arm helps. "You have to make big movements for people to 'hear' you," Stringer said.
