Two City of Arnold meetings scheduled for the week of Jan. 30.
The Arnold Recreation Center, at 1695 Missouri State Road, will close the indoor pool on Wednesday for maintenance. The Arnold Tourism Committee will meet at Arnold City Hall, at 2101 Jeffco Blvd., on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 4 p.m. to discuss events and activities for the coming year. On Thursday, Feb. 2, the Arnold City Council will meet at City Hall at 7 p.m., to adopt the proposed farmers' market fee schedule, rule and regulations.

The Arnold Planning and Zoning Commission meeting has been canceled.
Since Jan. 23 is the beginning of the fourth week of the month, the Arnold City Council will not meet this week. Also the Arnold Planning and Zoning Commission, which was scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Jan. 24., will not meet this week. The City Council's next scheduled meeting is on Feb. 2.

Arnold City Council will reappoint members to the Parks and Leisure Service Board, Board of Adjustment on Thursday.
Arnold City Hall at 2101 Jeffco Blvd., will be closed Monday, Jan. 15, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day a National Holiday. Arnold City Council will meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at City Hall to adopt the comprensive plan for the city's proposed economic development and to re-appoint candidates to the following city boards. Parks and Leisure Service Board re-appointments—Gary Plunk, Brian Waldrop, Ron McCracken. Board of Adjustment re-appointments—Dale R. Bast, David McCreery and Jonathan Giallanzo.

The Arnold City Council will have its first meeting of the year on Thursday.
Just a reminder, Arnold City Hall at 2101 Jeffco Blvd., is closed all day Monday, Jan. 2, to observe New Year's Day. The building will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 3, and resume its regular schedule for the rest of the week. On Wednesday, the Arnold Tourism Commission will meet in the lower level of City Hall at 4:30 p.m. On Thursday, the Arnold City Council will meet in City Hall at 7 p.m. The meeting agenda will be determined later.

Arnold's Tourism Commission and City Council meeting are the only meetings scheduled for this week. Councilmen must shift 870 voters into Ward 1 and about 117 voters in Ward 4 due to the increase of residents in Wards 2 and 3.

The city council will need to discuss and approve a redistricting of the four Arnold voting wards by Dec. 13, the first day for eligible candidates to register for the April 2012 vote. Census results show the wards populations are unbalanced by 28 percent. The city must bring the wards' populations to within a 10 percent difference to comply the law.
