Arnold Man Indicted for Dragging Owner of Stolen Truck

Police said the owner tracked the truck to a parking lot and confronted the men, who drove off as he was hanging onto the truck's door handle.

A 28-year-old Arnold man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury Dec. 5 for dragging the owner of a stolen truck. Anthony Passiglia was charged with second-degree assault and vehicle theft. He is being held at the St. Louis County jail on $25,000 bond. St. Louis County prosecutors said Passiglia and Nicholas Doane, 19, of the first block of Wampler in Arnold, stole Doane’s father’s truck on Oct. 5. Doane’s father used a cell phone app to track the truck to a Kohl’s department store parking lot in Crestwood, where he confronted the two men and demanded his truck back. Arnold Man Charged With Felony for Third Theft-Related Offense

The man tried to walk out of the Mehlville Walmart with a BB gun tucked in his waistband, police say.

An Arnold man was caught trying to steal a Colt BB gun from a Mehlville Walmart, making it his third stealing offense in three years, according to St. Louis County Police. Christopher Allen, 25, of the 2200 block of Jackson St. in Arnold, was charged Thursday with stealing. Because it was his third theft-related offense in 10 years, he was charged with a Class D felony. St. Louis County Police said that Walmart security saw Allen attempt to cut a cord binding a mobile phone to a display Sept. 2 at the store at 3270 Telegraph Road in Mehlville. He then selected a Colt CO2 BB pistol from a display and went into a restroom. When Allen came out of the restroom, he was not carrying the item. Meth Lab Evidence Found in Vacant Arnold Home

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information. None of it indicates a conviction or guilty plea.

MAY 13 Drug Possession, Driving While Influenced—On a 5 a.m. traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy. 141 and Jeffco Boulevard, Arnold police determined a St. Louis man, 48, was intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. The man refused to take any tests. Police held the man until a sober driver could take him home. Stolen License Plate Tabs—A victim reported license plate tabs missing from his boat trailer while it was parked, between 5-9 a.m., at the Flamm City Access boat ramp at the Meramec River at Hwy 231. Driving While Influenced—Arnold police, investigating a wreck at the intersection of Jeffco Boulevard and Hickory Square Drive at 8 p.m., determined an Arnold man, 41, was driving while influenced. I get to see the APD police report summaries a few times a week. I am amazed at the number of calls to 2150 Michigan (Kohl's) and 2201 Michigan (WalMart) to pick up shoplifters who have been caught. I know these are tough times and the reports show that. Arnold Man Charged in Two South St. Louis County Burglaries

The suspect also faces charges in 15 other burglaries.

An Arnold man was charged Wednesday with two South County burglaries. St. Louis County Police said that Daniel Schulze, 35, burglarized a home in the 5000 block of Sherborne Drive in South County on Feb. 14 and stole jewelry valued at $8,365. Police also said in the report that he burglarized a home in the 4400 block of Sunhill Feb. 15 and stole jewelry valued at $2,900. The report stated that they have photos of Schulze selling the stolen jewelry. Schulze faces two counts each of burglary and stealing in the incidents. Bond was set at $25,000. He also faces charges related to eight other burglaries in St. Louis County, four burglaries in Creve Coeur and three burglaries in Des Peres.

Three Arnold Air Conditioning Units Stolen During Holiday Week

A fourth air conditioning unit was almost taken, in Arnold, during the cooler weather between Christmas and New Year's Day.

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information. None of it indicates a conviction or guilty plea. Jan. 1 Handgun Stolen — A Birch Lane resident reported a 9 mm pistol, valued at $100, missing from his bedroom nightstand. Stolen Air Conditioner — A Starling Community woman reported her air conditioner condenser missing from her residence. The loss is estimated at $1,000. Drug Paraphernalia Possession — Arnold police, responding to a phone call about someone using heroin in a vehicle parked at 2201 Michigan Ave., the address for Walmart, at about 5:30 p.m., found and charged a 20-year-old Affton man with drug paraphernalia possession.
