The city is participating in the Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday. Similar to the back to school sales tax holiday, purchases of specific green items will be exempt from sales tax.
In this case, residents who purchase Energy Star-certified new appliances can save up to $1,500 per appliance. Qualifying items include: washers, water heaters, dishwashers, air conditioners, furnaces, refrigerators, freezers and heat pumps.
