Arnold Shoppers Can Save Money on Green Appliances Starting Friday

Looking to buy a home appliance? Arnold is participating in the Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday April 19-25.

Arnold shoppers hoping to save a little green on environmentally-conscious appliances will have the opportunity April 19 - 25.

The city is participating in the Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday. Similar to the back to school sales tax holiday, purchases of specific green items will be exempt from sales tax.

In this case, residents who purchase Energy Star-certified new appliances can save up to $1,500 per appliance. Qualifying items include: washers, water heaters, dishwashers, air conditioners, furnaces, refrigerators, freezers and heat pumps.

However, Ward 2 City Councilwoman Michelle Hohmeier noted in a post on her Facebook page that TIF taxes in the city's shopping districts would still apply.
